*volley of curses* if i get through the morning in one piece, i will never forgive kovacs for making me do what i have never been able and never will learn to do, which is still undone and a horrible disaster. i have discovered that tetrameter is the only thing i can think in, that is to say the meter of children's rhymes. i did try very hard to write pentameter: glorying in the serpent recent slain/ he taunts the child of cupid with disdain. and then i looked at the two lines and said what the hell and gave up because it was so bad and went for tetrameter, which was easier to think in, but the result twenty times worse. i wish i were su-lin, or yisheng. or choonping! choonping! argh! why didn't i think to consult him! i should have called him! he's the kind of person to whom you could say: give me a 3syllable word that means unerring, only not unerring cos i've used it already, with a stress on the second syllable, that rhymes with slain, and then he'd be able to give it at a snap, and save me from certain ruin. ARGH. maybe i have to skip greek. incidentally does nothing rhyme with cupid other than stupid? actually choonping is metrically adept but not v good with rhymes. i am told that jianyi is expert at finding difficult rhymes, and supplied diocretian (sp?) to su-lin's "once upon a morning grecian." but i don't think i am desperate enough to want to be jianyi, and von says not yisheng either, not really. arghhhgh. *another volley of curses* oh and i just noticed these are wimbledon colours.
