p.s. caddy did not have the white lacey fairy wedding dress rose described in the third book. she did much better and had a dress of very, very pale gold, and she wore in her hair, as well as carried, orange and yellow and scarlet flowers (all the cadmium colours), and her veil had tiny beads (also of same colours.) and orange and scarlet shoes (!!!) to match.

the wedding cost bill the fortune rose threatened (white horses and carriages and rolls royces and a tent in the warbeck's garden with real wooden floors and a band) and naturally mrs warbeck did all the organising instead of eve. i'm really liking mrs warbeck very much. she's the classic sybil-ramkin-type ladies-who-organise.)
