after a few lovely days it's rainy again, and expects to stay that way till monday, which is when classes begin. i haven't yet made up my mind which classes to take, but i think elaine scarry's seminar on beauty and marc shell/warren sollors multilingual literatures of the u.s. are on the cards, unless the first class meeting does not go well. i am also wondering if i should take anglo-saxon this year or the next. i daresay it's offered every year so i can wait a year - i would like to take old norse this year instead. maybe i'll understand halldor laxness's books better...what with eliot weinberger and the letters from iceland by auden and macneice i think this quite a worthy private pursuit.

and now i shall brave the rain and cold and go out to deposit my stipend check at the bank, before i lose it, which according to narrative logic i will if i don't. i be gone.
