(no jokes about lewis carroll please.) after three consecutive days of preparing lunch and dinner in our kitchen i find what i need most is not a square egg pan or a cucumber grater or a new chopping board but a dish cover. the large plastic sort that fit a turn table. can you get one here? i keep preparing ingredients want to use later or taking things out of the oven to leave overnight but have to put another dish or bowl over the top, or else cling film. i think the kind here are those little metal domes which in the funny movie is put over a lobster or roast turkey or some such and when whipped off with a flourish always reveals something else altogther, frequently something incriminating. of course, there are no lizards in american kitchens, and i have never seen ants in one either (except joe flemming's caution! poisonous! red ants, so i'm not exactly sure, rationally, why i should keep food covered, except it seems unhygienic somehow.
