i am supposed to be reading cicero, on duties, so naturally i have escaped to journalling. i had a renewed interest in emmet ray, whom, i've only lately discovered, doesn't exist. this is, i suppose, tantamount to falling for randolph and christabel in possession, a thing that addy told me she nearly did, but as she told me before i'd read the book, i didn't. the kind of snow we had today is aggressive and rain-pelting. i have overcome my fear of jello and helped myself to some in the dining hall for want of much else more appetising. wasn't bad, either!! and, sat down today and managed to read mrs radcliffe's castles of anthlin and dunbayne for monday's lecture. please do not ask me what i think of it. mavis hee singing cheng li de yue guang (the moonlight on the city) which is such a throw back to rgs days and dofu jie! listening also to pan yue yun's tian tian tian le. a supremely cool title, that. is that a noun, adverb, verb (tian, tiantian lan), or adverb adjective? (tian tian, tianlan). you get the same idea whichever way you took the syntax, but the meaning is ever so slightly altered though. very good lyrics too. of course, it doesn't beat faye wong's 15 word song in brevity, but still, only four lines, and what room for imagination!

tian tian tian lan jiao wo bu xiang ta ye nan bu zhi qing de hai zi ta hai yao wen ni de yan jing wei shen me chu han the sky is blue everyday making it hard for me not to think of him. the unknowing child continues to ask: "why are your eyes sweating?"
okay i'm going to be dutiful about cicero, and then i'm going to bed. maybe it's the food but i don't feel so well anymore
