random reported conversations on hagdom, part ii

me to julian: but i was really surprised. why did you tell him i was your hag?
julian: well, i was going to say su-lin, but then i thought cp has first claims on her?
me: oh i see! well, i'm very pleased really!
julian: why? actually i was afraid you would be mad at me.
me: oh my dear do not worry! i've always wanted to beat su-lin at something!

su-lin: i have been protesting this for a very long time! i am not his hag! i'm his friend!
me: but you are! julian says so too!
su-lin: hey! you're supposed to be siding me!

me to julian: what i don't understand is, since we all hang out as a group, shouldn't all of us just be your friends? why couldn't it have been, say, yen?
julian: *thinking* no, yen wouldn't work. i can't explain. it's all about invisible threads that connect people.

(that sounds like like yue lao and his red threads? isn't that nice? in the west you have to be shot by an arrow by a chubby baby. in china an aged deity goes around with red threads, tying the two ends to the two lovers destined for each other.)

su-lin: *triumphantly* you have an unreliable authority! because cp says yen is one too.

su-lin: do you like liang chaowei? because cp says he is the final test of hagdom.
me: how does this work? what about carina lau? shouldn't the control in a hagdom test be a gay man?
su-lin: oh but cp says he is a gay icon. you know, like darling orlando.
me: aha! but julian detests liang chaowei! and i don't think he likes orlando either

(orlando bloom is not an icon for anybody, surely? but then what do i know. a minzhi icon would be someone like nohrnberg.)
