so i went to see nohrnberg today. had the expected lecture, about responsibility and personality flaws and time and the expected - which, to tell the truth, feels worse than i thought it would. i make light of it but deep down, it does feel awful - of course a dressing down from anyone never makes you feel good but it always is rather worse when it's someone you are close to. and especially if they aren't yelling but quietly reproachful. it seems though, he wrote to bob reeder and told him "she has been saved from the spectres of uthona and disgrace" or something like that. heh. and he also pointed out that while people's thesis sometimes do have a few typo/presentation/grammatical errors, he's never seen quite as many as mine. which is quite mortifying. on the other hand, bob - who wouldn't tell me what nohrnberg said to him about it - did say that he got the idea that nohrnberg liked it, besides which nohrnberg says i've got a darn good grad school writing sample so at least i accomplished something! AND HE SIGNED MY COPY OF THE ANALOGY. ahharhrhghgggh!!!!!!!!!!!! and a few more !!!!!!!!! he was gruff about it, but! oh! heaven!
