one of the ways i decide i can fend off homesickness is to listen to 80's chinese pop so i start streaming 97.2 broadcast. (yes, 97.2. i'm an auntie. so are you all, don't deny it. we go to cdrama and sembawang to look for eric moo and harlem yu and we know who chen shuhua and wang jie and the grasshoppers are!) this is the first time i am listening to 972 for a prolonged period and outside of a taxi, and i find they talk far too much between songs and all their ads are for middle-aged products like hair tonic and health supplements! but i've already heard sky wu and na ying and chyi yu and emil chau am bloody pleased. what's more, since the time difference between singapore and boston is 12 hours, it will always be 972 transmission hours when i'm up late writing papers.

OH! this ad they've just played started: chuan qi pao de nv ren zui mei, gao gui dian ya...(women who wear qipaos look most lovely: elegant and refined) and it turned out to be an ad for tunglok mooncakes!!!! NON SEQUITUR! and cindy says that no woman who eats mooncakes can hope to maintain a qipao figure.
