there is a 6 person widener request queue on kafka on the shore! not that i have time to read it, i already have far too many unread books in the room, which i'll never get to if i want to get any work done. also, i'm getting very worried about how to get books home for the summer and have resolved to buy no more than three books a month from now till the end of the semester. also, i have the chinese translation at home, so there's no reason to go hauling it out of widener at this stage. still. julian tells me he is enjoying it tremendously - and i'm deathly envious. i want to be the kind of woman who can read kafka on the shore without getting into trouble with the english department powers-that-be!

on a different note, i can never decide whether to read murakami in chinese or english translation.
