is not the airport within charlottesville? is earlysville a different city altogether? i never knew this! i thought that was simply the name of the road that leads to the airport! good grief. my ignorance of the place i lived in simply hits me in the face everyday - if i can come back - please let me - i will learn everything i can about charlottesville this time, i swear. i addressed an envelope but left the zipcode blank till i had time to look it up at the usps website, and got, instead, an error msg declaring that there was no such address in charlottesville. i mutter and frown and try the only other address i knew that was near this one - the airport - and the scales fell from my eyes. and i've just wasted a perfectly beautiful green envelope and 3 stamps. *glumly* i suppose i deserve it.

i am on my penultimate batch of letters to charlottesville. probably going to die from glue-poisoning. dropped off a bundle of letters this morning and then thought, i hope they'll deliver a letter to a restaurant, because that's what i wrote on one of them. or perhaps they mightn't deliver it because there is no human's name on it! hmm. it was a card to the thai restaurant where i ate almost every week this past year. on my last visit, just after exams, we had saved the thank yous and goodbyes because we all thought that we were having the nohrnberg lunch there. and then i'd run off without going back. it was on my conscience all the time - and they were the sweetest people that last visit - saying we didn't have to say goodbye yet because i was coming back for the nohrnberg lunch. the baby was there too - i waved at him. oh dear oh dear. i hope the card would convey sufficient abjectness.

i am a dingbat.
