The D list has met with an accident and is no longer in existence.
E F G today
  • Epigrammatic
  • Enigma
  • Epitaph (mine! Cos of our old Newsletter, The Epitaph, which was in turn because of DPS)
  • Epidermal (what?! UGH)
  • Enervating (definitely not mine. I would never use such an annoying word)
  • Elixir (bleah)
  • Egotist (think I prefer it without the t)
  • Esquire (huh)
  • Esoteric (mine!)
  • Eminent (i dun like it. snobby word)
  • Emu (See? I said there were no animal names that were any good)
  • Erratic
  • Enduring (this is the only form of this word that i like. endure has too much of a suffering tone and endurance sounds like sports. enduring makes me think of enduring love, enduring monuments...)
  • Epoch (there's something v wrong with this word. it doesn't sound like what it means. it sounds too frivolous. it ought to sound grander.)
  • Emollient (hah. first epidermal then emollient. clearly came off a face cream bottle.)
  • Entourage (i think this word is on the list for the associations of fame and glamour rather than for its own merit)
  • Exacting (oh i like this!)
  • fluke (heh. i wonder how this word came about)
  • fallow (i can never like this word again after geog)
  • fester (lilies that fester? fester sounds and spells like a nice word, but it doesn't mean anything good alas)
  • farthing
  • frugal (not that i am, and it isn't nice to say, though it looks right. whenever i see this word i see an old man hunched over a table)
  • flourish
  • fluctuating
  • flourescent
  • fruition (ugh. nobody ever says this word in any good connection. and it makes me think of estee lauder eye creams)
  • fracas (oh! fracas is good!)
  • folly
  • fallacious
  • frenzy
  • futility
  • fraught
  • flamboyant
  • fugitive (poor Aeneas)
  • functional
  • fritter (goreng pisang - maybe i was hungry)
  • ferocious
  • fradulent (another one that sounds so good but means nothing good)
  • fascinate
  • fable (ooh)
  • fuzzy
  • flamingo (that's not a bad animal name but they look so darn ridiculous)
  • foothold (oh! that's a nice word! jie zhu xian deng!)
  • fictitious (mm)
  • fluvial (probably mine though it sounds good is all)
  • gesticulation (yuk)
  • gothic
  • grotesque
  • grievous (mine i think)
  • gusto
  • gizzard (aha. i'll slit you from your guggle to your zatch, said the duke)
  • gregarious
  • gaunt (oooh lovely)
  • grasshopper (poor tithonus. though it isn't my word.)
  • grave (the quality not the burial spot)
  • geyser (yucks. nouns are never much good. the best words in the language are verbs and adjectives)
  • gargoyle
  • gloat
  • gaudy
  • garland (i take it back. garland is a beautiful word)
  • gracious (somehow gracious and garland seems to go together. was it in daphne and apollo?)
  • gondola
  • gryphon (i like this spelling much better than griffin)
  • goblet (i dun think i can possibly like this word again after von defined "turkey giblet" as "a small cup brimming with turkey"
  • gaucho (i have a bad feeling this is mine. duncan and clotilda)
  • glib
