the rest of the idea is to time it so that the match would ignite, light a candle, the candle burns a string to which candle is attached, string breaks, candle plunges into water below, and flame is extinguished
at least, i gathered that that was what it was, at anyrate, something at least as complicated and well-timed and in my opinion rather twisting the arm of fate.
