having heidi here at harvard this year (that sentence was unintentionally alliterative) i feel invigorated and am fervently showing off this my favourite city (yes, it has displaced charlottesville as my favourite american city, i have come to realise. i love charlottesville too - i wouldn't have anyone misunderstand that - but i was simply in charlottesville, being, and those were years beautiful but, to some extent, unreal - whereas i have lived, am living, in cambridge.) and when another comes to live here, i am eager to taking pride in showing her "hole-in-wall" restaurants, bus routes, unsuspected beautiful corners and paths. we're trying to do an excursion every weekend - inman square last week, the isabella stewart gardner museum yesterday, and brattle square theatre, probably the next. i'm busy planning excursions - before the semester overtakes us (which it soon will!) - beacon hill perhaps, the public gardens, a walk in the brattle area (formaggio's kitchen! and to have a pistachio or a raspberry cake, such as i always had at my afternoon teas!)
