i think new york is what i'm going to do for break. the met opera is performing la boheme next sunday which i really really want to see. addy says we can still get standing room tickets. i complain that opera is too long to stand through but she told me not to be a wimp and to don sensible shoes. hmm. international ballet feste in dc completely soldout so no point me staying here, anyway. addy says i should go up and take a break from all this crap around here although i really should do some work. but i will be able to read on the train. i am strangely good at getting reading done in trains, planes and automobiles. addy thinks she will be revising her thesis and says she will introduce me to the pleasures of all-nighting it in the libraries of columbia, although i still think poach will have a far better effect on me nothing like a superorganised j to terrorise you into work. but the recent memory of those black and white cookies is still fairly titillating and su-lin will say to go where the chocolate is. if we're going chair shopping tomorrow i'll see if bob can drop me off at the train station on the way back so i can get hold of a ticket. niu yue niu yue!
