i wonder who it is that keeps wanting edgar wind's pagan mysteries of the renaissance. we seem to be recalling it from each other all the time. i wonder if i can read it in one day, if i sit in the library this afternoon and do it in one sitting. it's about 300pages long though, and i also have 2 response papers to write for tomorrow. perhaps i can do it over two days, get down all the quotations or page numbers i need and then get it out of my room forever. or perhaps nohrnberg would loan me his copy. or should i just give it up and forget it totally do i really need something on renaissance emblematic practices? i'm not even sure what i'm writing about and i only just got hold of the book recently so perhaps i could do without it and stop wasting time reading and try to come up with some continuous prose. the old story of cards and houses, i suppose. i wonder too, how i'm going to get the damn thing printed although this of course is rather horse and cart, since i haven't got anything to print. but when i do i wonder how to get A4 paper which we were told is what to get it printed on. now that i've got used to paper here A4 looks odd and elongated, even though when i first got here with my A4 folders and two-hole punchers i couldn't get letter-sized paper to behave.
