having got hold of a new phone (this being no extravagance, my old one gave up the ghost a few days ago) i had the idea of taking photos of people to go onto the contact list, until i realised that i'd much rather have a photo gallery of book covers. i'd taken various pictures of some of my favourite books earlier with the idea of making a wallpaper (but they looked terrible once i had them stretched to fit the phone. also, and more likely, because i can't hold a camera straight.) so, when you ring me now a book flashes at me.

some thought has gone into this, i assure you. for yen, of course, has gaudy night; poach, discovery of heaven; yvonne, ulysses. (i would have made it weinberger, but you've got my copy!) addy naturally has got to be murakami only i haven't got one at home - bring your signed wind-up bird to the next first thursday, and i'll get a picture of it then. (right now i've given you the sappho companion, edited by margaret reynolds.) von, he would be very pleased to know, has got busman's honeymoon. julian has galatea 2.2 (i'll go to the library and get a copy of the time of our singing one of these days. the ones i've got at home are goldbug and plowing the dark, and galatea is the most appropriate.) su-lin: the ode less travelled. ("what is form?" or "stephen gets all cross")

appeals from the dissatisfied to the management at the usual address, please.

some yet unassigned covers are invisible cities, flying to nowhere, rituals, the 13 clocks, possession, unattempted rescue, old english elegies, analogy of the FQ. i'll go around and take more pictures of book covers later on.

oh and cindy... cindy.... erm. cindy? oh dear. erm.
