it all started when su-lin asked us how much she should charge the tuition centre for freelancing - they want her to design worksheets and write model essays. this started a debate on essay banks, and someone said, since we are poor and the one thing we can do is write, why don't we just charge for a gp-essay-on-demand service for high school students? because, someone else countered, high school students haven't got enough pocket money to pay for essays. also, people who want to buy essays usually do so the night before their essays are due, and that wouldn't give us enough time to research the topic. and anyway, said someone else doubtfully, would we get into trouble? it's encouraging plagiarism afterall. oh well, all the better, said another then we'll just have sue them for plagiarising our work afterwards, wouldn't we? and, another remembered, it is to our advantage for we have jianyi to pluck at the sleeve of the judge. but, someone else lamented, what happened to the slightly-mauve-prose syndicate we were going to start? the one where we would all chip in and write extremely drawn-out romance serials and make pots of gold from? (it's got to be good money, because people can always do with another danielle steele, and how difficult can it be to write soft-brained mush? and at least we can write decent prose...) but now, have we fallen from purple prose to gp essays? oh no no, comforted another, we could do both and offer package deals. "for an extra $10, would you like some porn with your essay? it could be tailored for your teacher..." whoop!
