am working on the idea of creating a kind of chinese equivalent of the germanic rune poems - where the key should be the elements of chinese phonetics - since that has some kind of alphabetic representation available in hanyu pinyin, and then assigning a character for each according to the sound - so we retain the three aspects of the rune poems, with the difference that the graphic component is embodied in the character (which also comprises the sound component) rather than in the letters of the alphabet - and then to produce and acrostic poem by limiting the initial character (although there would be quite a choice, so that's a permutation problem - my favourite kind!) i have to work on this idea a bit, but that's the outline that came to me as i was thinking about rune poems.
