when i first went to uva i kept a scrapbook - a picture of snow coming down and a dim lamp-post outside maupin - which makes me think narnia all the time - and one of the weeping cherry on the lile-maupin slope. the tickets i designed for spectrum's lysistrata, the stub from my first amtrak trip (to d.c. christine was going to take me, but her car got towed, and we had to rouse a napping jessica to drive me to the station) a photo of valentine roses from kenneth, ticket stubs from washington ballet and abt. receipt from youth hostel in dc.

maybe i should start one for cambridge. it certainly is a little late now. i have thrown out my bso and boston ballet tickets, but i do have a ticket stub from seamus heaney's poetry reading in mem church. and when i get this roll developped i should have a picture of my room and of the orchids in my room. i'll put in the receipt for my puffy down coat, just to prove i'm now a new englander. (well..) and probably i can go around taking highly inconsequential pictures of my study carrel and the cambridge public library and when i live to cronehood can provide grandchildren with artefacts for history projects or soporific tales for insomnia.
