Q: where shall we go?
A: to the library!

well i found the one at sengkang today, when my dad and i went to try out the sengkang lrt, which is a zillion times better than the bukit panjang lrt, and looks nothing like the other. why don't the windows mist up, though?

got w.g. sebald's the emigrants and pat barker's the eye in the door, but tonight i'm planning to reread witches abroad.

why is it it's so easy to read dostoevsky and so difficult to read angela carter? i liked the magic toyshop very much and i liked her spitfire essays and reviews but i can't make myself read her short stories. dostoevsky, on the otherhand, is so good i've given the shove to all intentions of reading the french i am rushing repentant into the arms of the russians. reading him i remember how notes from underground made the strongest impression on me when i read it for the first time at thirteen. i've got to go back and reread the russians. what's a good translation of eugene onegin? recommendations welcome.
