already broken resolution about three books a month. twice as a matter of fact. in just the last two days. oh well, that was a particularly silly sort of resolution anyway. if you see a book you want, grab it i say and don't let go until you've fought your way out.

also: never understood the big fuss about david almond. well, all right, the fire eaters was disquieting enough at the start and end but the middle bits were mostly unremarkable. and skellig which i hear people go to war for is so far neither particularly engaging or well-written. when i went back to the cambridge public library for my books, the librarian said, in a meaningful sort of way, that someone else had wanted skellig badly and it had to be held for me. seeing as if i had been allowed to check my books out that day it wouldn't have been in the library for person to get anyway, i refuse to be guilt tripped by her.

also also, i remember liking dragon in the waters when i first read it but this time i've found it completely unreadable and stilted.

but i should read about wisdom literature instead now.
