after the first two splendid episodes, doctor in the house has rather gone downhill. it is nowhere as funny as brothers-in-law, and i'm rather tired of richard briers being so inept and priggish. in fact, i only listen to it because tony benskin (played with insouciance by ray cooney, who also wrote the script) has a delectable derek nimmo sort of voice, and oh! i live week to week for sir lancelot spratt! vain, brilliant, sarcastic and openly hostile! how wonderful! it makes me long for the old days where our teachers were as horribly rude to us as that.
