now that summer is here and the dining halls are shut i am starting to cook again. i thought i might char bng today so cooked a pot of rice last night but decided instead to eat real food and try using up some of those pre-mixed spice packs my mother sent me. also, my roommate is on holiday, so i can have the biggest fry-up ever!

so:

for dinner last night there was:

  • diced beef, marinaded in the spice-pack for honey ribs, panfried with almond slivers
  • qingchao spinach (no dou miao lah) with lots of chopped garlic;
  • japanese eggplant, chopped into chunks, roasted, thick miso sauce poured over, sprinkling of sesame seeds
  • one fried egg (but no jioh cheng)
  • miso soup (seaweed, taukua rings)
    and a strong cup of sencha to go with it all.

    easy!
