it wasn't really a turandot story, although the play and the libretto were echoed amply. it was very cool, and also very funny! i admit i was not awake all the time to keep track of what's happening, and it was not a help that the man who sat in front of me was very tall. at times i just closed my eyes and listened to the music (it was very, very good), which of course is not a clever thing to do, but. stayed for the post-show dialogue with the director, an unpretentious, thoughtful woman who named the piece for e.e. cummings, hah! and said she liked the connective power of (and). someone else pointed out that it was also the middle of turandot. that was nice, i thought.

as i wasn't awake half the time i won't try to say anything about it so here are reviews from real critics

i'm late for minyin, so i shall go now. and i'll be out with tjan tonight, home around 10, or 11, perhaps.
