i had my cellphone this morning - min-yin rang me from wodonga, which, i have since learnt, is actually a very small city, the sort so tiny it really should blush to call itself one, but is one nonetheless. (me: you told me it was your rural rotation! i thought you would be delivering babies in on horseback and operating on gangrenous knees with two plastic spoons and and a tin-opener! min-yin: that's because you think everything is like "doctor at large." )

although i feel like "doctor at large" very often: there's an episode where richard briers comes out of his final exam and shouts: we passed! we passed! we are three qualified, incompetent doctors!

but this post is about how i can't find my phone under all this mess and would von please call me at some point tonight so that i have a hope of finding it? the battery is going flat and i want to talk to my parents tonight.
