now that i've gone through another cycle of sayers (couldn't you tell from all the gaudy night quotes?) i need to start on a round of pratchetts. preferably thief of time or one of the city watch books. it's too late to go to the library tonight, and anyhow it's pouring. why don't i own a shelf of pratchetts? i do know why, though. who would put herself so much in the way of harm when already expert at self-indulgence and inventing distractions? actually no, what i really want is to reread dark lord of derkholm, or howl's moving castle, or the lives of christopher chant (having reread charmed life recently, on the train from new york to d.c.) i should start buying diana wynne jones. if i simply get:

dark lord of derkholm
the first two chrestomancis
tale of time city
and howl's moving castle
would i be alright?

i might also want witch week and homeward bounders. or maybe even year of the griffin. hmm
