zak is here till tuesday night, visiting various harvard friends. i had expected him to get into south station on the 1.50 bus, and to arrive at harvard square perhaps around 2.20, but just ten past noon my phone rang. i am here! he says! causing great consternation for i had just got out of the bath and hadn't yet cleaned my room. oh well. anyone who can sit through many forty-minute slots of evans with me doodling with coloured pens on his foolscap pad, his essays and his arm probably can stand a little mess. whoever said grad students had tidy rooms, yah? i went and got zak from the harvard t-stop and dragged him around various harvard libraries while i collected requested books. then we went and walked around harvard square, and had a late lunch at 9tastes. i had good roast duck! the skin was crackling and there was just enough fat under so it was soft and the meat was not too dark. then went and got cider at tealuxe and got a street facing seat and dangled our legs and tried to figure out how i can register for elections in time if i were home in the summer and the general elections were in july. and then we came home and zak napped and i read some old english and then von came home and we went out to pho pasteur and then it was night.
