so. when it is 10pm in singapore, the temperature is 81F and feels like 88F. when it's 10am in cambridge, it's 30F and feels like 25F. where would you rather be? i know where i'd rather be.

incidentally, i love it that if you look up singapore weather on weather.com, they ask if you want the weather for bukit panjang, bukit timah, changi, paya lebar or serangoon. hee hee hee. although yeen teck says it is sometimes sunny in tuas but raining in pasir ris, and that is true too.

also, he says that way he can tell people he is from the midwest and they might think he's a hick. nah, i say, bishan isn't midwest, more like, east of the centre. midwest would be more like mandai. yes, he says, and jurong would be really hip and full of cool people then? and i agree enthusiastically because i have jumped ahead and decided that would make hougang the academic capital of singapore.

yt: no that would be punggol or sengkang.
me: how can? punggol is too far north. more like seafood central. which in fact, it is! or was.
yt: no lah, loyang would be lobster land. tampines would hold our nation's capital, and bedok would be full of soul cooking.
me: and we hang people in telok blangah. would you say woodlands is west of centre or eastish?
yt: probably ohio-ish, while marsiling is definitely in the dakotas.
me: i think yishun is more ohio. woodlands is chicago maybe. and we can go to clementi to gamble.
yt: yes! and changi is where you go to retire!
me: i still think hougang is the academic centre.
yt: fine, we'll give you that, since you live there and it's, aha, hotly contested.
me: i doubt hougang is ever hotly contested. solidly for low thia khiang. now potong pasir is hotly contested.

and so it goes. i like geography.
